Fugu Genome assembly (June 2005) includes 7,213
scaffolds, constituting 390 Mb of the genome. 90% of the genome
is on 1118 scaffolds. 74 scaffolds are larger than 1 Mb each
and the largest scaffold is 7 Mb. A total of 22,008 gene loci
have been predicted in this assembly.
- Third Fugu Genome assembly ( 26th August
2002 ) includes 8,597 scaffolds, of length >2kb, constituting
329 Mb of the 400 Mb genome. The proteome comprises of 38,150
predicted nonredundant set of Fugu peptides encoded by 29,625
predicted gene loci.
- Second Fugu Genome assembly ( 17 th May 2002
) includes 12,403 scaffolds, of length >2Kb, constituting
320 Mb of the 400 Mb genome. The assembly comprises of 33,609
predicted nonredundant set of Fugu peptides encoded by 31,059
predicted gene loci. A preliminary analysis of the annotated
genome is reported in Science (2002) 297:1301-1310.
